Thank youCharlie's quilt has arrived! Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all the people that contributed to Charlie's quilt, he absolutely loves it and in Charlie's words ... It's lush! I can assure you this quilt will be treasured and taken everywhere. He hates his bed as he has had quite a few seizures in it and it scares us all but it's these little things that will get him back into his own bed. Thanks again, Charlie and his family x

BiographyCharlie had his first seizure around 5 months old although at the time I didn't know it was a seizure. If I am honest I didn't know what it was but I knew something wasn't right. We went to our local A&E department and it was put down to a febrile seizure and we were sent on our way.
Unfortunately it wasn't the last and over the year he had a few more and other strange behaviour which were noted as Rigors/Night terrors. It was when Charlie was around 15 months old the myoclonic seizures started closely followed by the Tonic Clonics, drop attacks and absences. Late August 2010 was when things spiralled out of control and by October my boy was unrecognisable. The medication came quick and fast but were doing nothing, he was having in excess of 100 seizures a day and he ended up in status for the first time ... we spent weeks in hospital. Christmas 2010 come and we thought it would be Charlie's last ever Christmas. Around March 2011 Charlie was diagnosed with a rare disorder called Dravet Syndrome, it wasn't good news.
Charlie has good and bad spouts but unfortunately we are going through a bad patch but he is a trooper and just gets on with things.
