Biography

Although born healthy, I found him barely breathing in his cot when he was just seven weeks. Paramedics battled to resuscitate Kieran who had to be rushed to intensive care at Glasgow's Yorkhill Hospital.

He was in a coma and on a ventilator for 6 weeks. During this time, doctors had told us to prepare for the worst because the chance of survival would be a miracle! Nearly 9 years later I still have my miracle who inspires everyone around him. So far he's been through three fundoplications to try and minimize his reflux but he still suffers in pain so we opting for jejunostomy permanent.

This reduces risk of aspirations which he does regularly and often been in high dependency care. He has also had bilateral hip surgery and not so long ago he underwent another hip reconstruction surgery,

Kieran has just spent last four months in hospital with cellulitis and glandular fever where we discovered another problem with his heart and we now hoping beta blockers will save him from even more surgery. He has another 2 operations within next few weeks.

Although it's a hectic lifestyle. I wouldn't change it for anything. There are still no answers as to why Kieran ended up fighting for his life.
