Biography

Alfie was born healthy and happy in 2009. He had his first seizure at around 8 months old, and continued to suffer from prolonged, severe seizures which required multiple hospital admissions and stays in intensive care.

At around 18 months old, Alfie was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome which is a medication resistant, life limiting form of epilepsy. Alfie's seizures are life threatening and require urgent medical treatment when they occur.

His learning difficulties mean that he is unaware of danger and how to keep himself safe, as such he needs 24 hour care to keep him safe. Unfortunately Alfie's condition has deteriorated over the past few years, although he never lets this get him down and he always has a smile and a cuddle for everyone!
