Biography

Jack is almost 9 and has had to put up with some tough times. When he was 21 months old his younger brother passed away and he misses him every day. Then, just before his 4th birthday, Jack was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is a life limiting muscle wasting condition.

Jack battles daily, for him it’s like he is always running in firefighter boots (wish this was my analogy but I have borrowed it from another parent who’s child has the same condition) which is extremely hard to do day in and day out.

For the most part Jack is a happy go lucky lad but as he gets older he is noticing more differences between him and his peers. He is finding this more and more difficult and when we add his medication in to the mix his self regulation isn’t always possible. Jack loves to play with his friends and his older brother.

As Jack has grown his interests have changed like everybody but Jack has constantly had his best friends in our dogs. Jack has a support dog that we have trained and they are the best of friends. His other interests include Roblox, Minecraft and Lego of all kinds. Jack loves to read the Chronicles of Narnia. He loves his scooter and his trike bike.
