Biography

Our three year old son Edward had a H.I.E. event during birth which has led to a diagnosis of Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy. I had the perfect pregnancy with Edward but had a traumatic birth without any warning. Nothing can prepare you for this! You certainly don’t expect to be researching brain injuries as a new Mother when you should be soaking up every minute with your newborn baby! Edward spent 5 weeks in Neonatal care, this was an incredibly difficult time.

In spite of what life has thrown at Edward at such a young age he is thriving. However he needs daily therapy to strengthen his body and learn skills for life. Edward attends NHS therapy which consists of physio and occupational therapy and private therapies too, including horse riding.

Edward enjoys learning, in particular different colours and numbers. He is also a big fan of Ms Rachel, Hey Duggee, horses and more recently all things space related.
