Biography

Kevin was born in 2014. He wasn't diagnosed until I saw some issues with his physical condition. He wasn't very active. He refused any complicated activities and avoided PE lessons in nursery and Reception class. He was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of five.

This devastating diagnosis has had a profound impact on our family, altering our plans and reshaping our vision of the future. Today, Kevin is ten years old, but his condition has significantly progressed. He can now manage only a few steps on his own.

Recently, doctors discovered three spinal fractures, which cause him frequent and intense pain. We are currently awaiting a procedure designed to partially repair the damaged areas of his spine. However, like any medical intervention, this procedure carries potential side effects, and Kevin might experience considerable discomfort for several days afterward.

At times, it feels as though our lives revolve around hospital visits, medical check-ups, and consultations. Despite these challenges, we are committed to creating the happiest possible childhood for Kevin, filled with love, joy, and meaningful moments.

Kevin has a deep passion for technology, and his favourite game is Minecraft. He also adores birds, especially red robins and owls.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity Kevin has been given to receive a unique quilt, which means so much to him and to us as a family.

Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
