Biography

When Joshua was 9 months old I noticed he couldn’t pull himself up. We had a very good pregnancy, no problems, easy birth so this came as a shock to me. I took him to our GP and told him he was dragging his leg and couldn’t pull himself up. The GP put him on the floor and tried getting him to pull himself up and noticed he couldn't. He then sent us straight to Alder Hey.

We saw a physiotherapist who said Josh just had a gap in his hip but after 12 months he was just getting worse, falling in pain etc. So we went back to GP who sent us back to Alder Hey. They did a blood test but before then told us what potentially it could be and the following week Josh was diagnosed with DMD.

Joshua is a little comedian, loves to talk, our little artist.
