Alexander's quilt    (Quilt Completed)

Oh, what can I say, or how can I say such a huge thank you. Alexander's quilt arrived this morning and even though I had seen pictures on the Internet of the other quilts, I honestly don't think anything is quite as good as seeing one in person if you know what I mean.

Alexander has carried it around with him all day and run a little match box car along each patch as if they are little roads. You have made a little boy feel very special and two parents feel very grateful that such nice and kind people are around who would give up their own time to do such a lovely thing.

Biography

Alexander was born on June 7th 2007 & was taken from me before I came back from theatre. He was transferred to Alderhey Hospital & had his first bowel operation that night. They suspected CF straight away & within 12 hours more of his bowel had died due to the bowel blockage.

For the next 4 months Alexander had a colostomy bag & did gain a little weight. In the September he had his bowel put back together & started to live a bit of a normal life, as normal as he ever will. The first year of his life, he spent most of it in hospital catching various infections.

he has lots of medication daily to take & a problem with his liver & hearing. he has to have physio twice a day which is hard to tie him down to bang him in various positions.

The one thing Alexander loves is to cuddle up under his covers & duvets & to snuggle into any teddy to try & get some comfort for when he is feeling so unwell.
