Biography

Abigail was diagnosed with Cystic FIbrosis on 21/1/2002 at just 8 weeks old after failing to thrive. Abbie has had lots of inpatient stays at Bristol Childrens hospital for intravenous antibiotics as well as daily oral antibiotics,nebulisers,calorie supplements,anti sickness/reflux meds.

She is a very bright little girl with a real zest for life but of late has become very depressed and withdrawn,struggling with being "different".

She has recently had a referral to the child mental health unit as some of her behaviours surrounding her condition have become a little worrying. She has become obsessed and constantly anxious and worried that she is going to die.

We have protected her from the implications of CF but I think she is of the age now where she has become very aware of the things that she hears/sees at hospital visits.

Lorraine Barnes has been a huge support and I am thrilled that she has put Abigail's name forward to you
