Thank youWe received Alan's Quilt today (January 20th 2009), it's absolutely fantastic. I would like to say a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to stitch a square for Alan. He absolutely adores it & has been snuggled up with it since it has arrived.
It has made him feel very special knowing it was stitched especially for him.
Thank you so much for this wonderful gift, Alan will treasure it.
Lots of Love Julie xx

BiographyAlan is 5 years old, he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (which affects the lungs and digestive system, clogging them with mucus) at the age of 18 months. Since then he has a daily battle with medicine, physio and nebulisers to keep him well.
For the last year, Alan has had constant infections which resulted in Alan requiring introvenus antibiotics every 3 months. This meant a picc line being inserted into his veins. His veins were not tolerating it so the line had to be put in several times during the 2 week course, it is horrible watching your son go through that. They then decided to put in a portacath, a procedure that required a general anaesthetic, but has made his life a bit easier.
Although Alan goes through this every day, he is a loving very funny little boy.
Update July 9th 2008
Alan has just finished a 2 week course of antibiotics, he normally gets them every 3 months. He gets constant infections that oral antibiotics can't move. He is alot better since finishing them and alot cheerier, his cough is a little less, but it's still there as it normally always is.
It's our summer holidays now so when he is well, he's able to get our on his bike or trampoline (great physio) which he loves.
