A wonderful package arrived this morning! It was Laura's beautiful quilt from LoveQuiltsUK. I've attached some tabs to the top and have it hanging on the wall in Laura's playroom so we can appreciate its beauty every day. A huge thank you to all the cross stitchers and especially to Katherine who made the squares into this magnificent work of art. xxxxxxx

Biography

Laura had her first seizure at 4 months and suffered long and complicated seizures almost weekly. She suffered respiratory arrest a number of times and has brain damage as a result.

In 2006 she had a vagus nerve simulator implanted to try to reduce her seizures. She is also on 6 medications daily and is gastrostomy fed. Laura has a severe global learning disability and functions at around age 12-15 months despite being almost 11 years old. She is a very unsteady walker and has almost no recognisable words but she is happy and loves playing with water and feathers!
