BiographyBrooke was born at 42 wks gestation, after a healthy pregnancy.she was starved of oxygen at birth for around 22 minutes, which has caused severe damage to her mid brain.
She is always in and out of hospital as she suffers from recurrent chest infections and frequent aspiration pnuemonia and has seizures that require medical intervention. Brooke unfortunatly isn't expected to live past childhood due to the complex medical needs that she has. We take every day as it comes and for every sad tear that we cry over Brooke,we cry a tear of joy for the times that she has made us smile.
Brooke is due to go into hospital on 4th oct 2010 to have a baclofen pump implanted, which will hopefully make a difference to the quality of life that she currently has. She is registered blind and has a bilateral hearing loss, she is unable to walk, talk or sit unaided, she requires regular suctioning of her secretions to help keep her airway open and clear. Brooke is a happy, content little girl and has the most beautiful smile.
