Biography

Tilly was born at 35 weeks to natural birth mum who had a drug and alcohol addiction. She was diagnosed at birth with severe complicated foetal alcohol syndrome resulting in her brain being very small unable to cope with normal development. Tilly has no swallow reflex so needs suction to clear secretions. She suffers with chest infections, epileptic fits and has very poor kidney function, she also has a vsd in her heart that is monitored on a regular basis.

Tilly has to attend lots of hospital appointments to keep on top of her health she has to undergo a lot of test on a regular basis which some times can be very uncomfortable for her.

We have cared for Tilly since she was six weeks old and she officially joined our family five years ago when her adoption was completed. Tilly is a delightful little seven year old girl although she is unable to walk she bunny hops round getting into mischief wherever she can.

She has very poor peripheral vision and a moderate hearing loss both which she copes with remarkably well.

Tilly's life may be shortened and impaired by her complex medical needs but she is absolutely delightful happy little girl.
