Biography

Casey was born on the 6th May 2005 and all seemed fine. At 12 hours old she was checked by 2 paediatricians and then rushed to NICU. Five hours later we were told she had a complex cardiac condition and they didn't think she would make it. She was blue lighted to Glenfield where she then stayed until she had her first open heart surgery at 3 weeks old. She weighed just 4 lb, she had 2 cardiac arrests and at this point we were told we could lose her.

She fought through, and we came home on the 27th July, she then had a further three open heart surgeries her last when she was two and a half.

She spent the best part of her first three years of life in and out of hospital.
She had two palate surgeries 1 in Nov 2010 and 1 in Nov 2011.

Casey is nearly 8 and is now developmentally age 4-5 years she amazes us how she is always happy and never complains. We are now waiting for the date of her 5th open heart surgery and worry what the future will hold x

I know she will fight with all her heart - she's my little princess and I love her with all my heart x
