Huge thank you to everyone who contributed to Eloise Carter's quilt. I knew it would be really nice but I was overwhelmed at just how much detail has been put into it. We both ooh'd and ahh'd at the hearts that were stitched to hold it all together. We keep stroking it and the smile on Eloise's face is one I will treasure forever.

Biography

My daughter Éloise was diagnosed with juvenile Huntington's disease aged ten. There were no signs at the time of testing I just persuaded my consultant to support me in obtaining an early diagnosis. My theory I can cope with anything as long as I know what is coming.

Éloise only found out about her condition in November 2012 as I didn't want her constantly worrying. She was informed as she was getting to the stage where she was needing additional support at school.

She has been out of school since March 2013 due to the pressure of GCSEs being too much.

Éloise has had some emotional times since knowing about her condition but overall she is taking it all very well.

She now has to use a wheelchair for long distances, loses her balance more frequently and is starting to struggle eating certain foods.
