Thank you

Thanks so much for Erika's beautiful quilt! It arrived at the hospice today and has been admired by everyone..She's still very delicate so no smiles yet, but knows that something very special had been given to her.

Sadly, Erika passed away on 26/11/2016 :(

Biography

Erika's problems didn't start to declare themselves until 7 weeks of age when she had her first seizure. Then followed a two year quest to reach a diagnosis, we have recently had after exome sequencing. Erika has a new mutation in the SMC1A gene which is causing her condition. She is PEG fed and fully dependent for all care. Life with a profoundly disabled child is challenging but Erika has brought immense love and joy into our lives.
Currently she is hospital after very bad seizures and is going to be transferred to the hospice for symptom control. She is a fragile little fairy but has pulled through life threatening illnesses in the past so we are hoping for the best.
