Biography

Leia was born with spina bifida and had a 9 hour operations when she was just 2 hours old to close her back up as she was born with her hole back open 2 days later she had another operation to have a shunt put in her head to drain the fluid from the ventricals from her head to her tummy to stop them keeping the fluid building up in her head. Leia can crawl and has been told they are optimistic that she will be able to walk she is seen in St Thomas in London on a regular basis. It is still on going treatment for Leia now they are checking the bladder and bowl to see if they have been affected by the spina bifida this is being done next month
