Biography

Caiden was born at 37.5 weeks weighing 5lb 7.5oz. The first week of life was spent in hospital on antibiotics fighting infections. We kind of knew from then our boy was very special. He didn't cry like other babies and rarely wanted feeding. Caiden was in and out of hospital with infections and weight issues. He never met any of his milestones on time and although doctors wanted to check him for a very rare disorder I wasn't ready to believe that my perfect little boy was going to be so different from others. I had to give in at the age of one as reality hit that unless diagnosed he wasn't going to get the help he really needed.

Caiden is now five, he is well known to the local hospital and is always in and out due to chest infections and bowel issues. Caiden has a rare genetic disorder that classes him as being severely mentally impaired. He has no speech, limited understanding, severe behavioural issues, immature feeding, severe issues with constipation, the list goes on.

We don't know what the future holds for Caiden or even what he will accomplish 'slow and steady win the races. To me Caiden is a mini Superhero.
