Biography

Tom was born in 2009 and spent the next 6 months in Special care. We were told Tom wouldn't survive past 6 months and we brought him home to have time with him before he passed on.

Tom will be 7 this year and is a fighter and loves life and his family. Tom has no swallow and can be suctioned anything up to 80 times a day. Because he's got no swallow, his secretions end up on his lungs and cause infections so he goes into hospital regular for IV antibiotics. Tom also has chest physio 3 times a day to move the secretions off his chest - it's not a 100% effective but it helps.

Tom's a massive music lover, the music just does something to him so whenever he's upset we'll be caught singing and it just calms him. Tom goes to school once a week, he can't go any more as he risk of picking up infections can be life threatening.
