Biography

Tyler Lee was born full term but born with hearing loss and never took to bottle. At 6 weeks old Tyler began to have seizures but it was put down to reflux spasms. By the age of 5/6 months Tyler was rushed to Alder Hey as more where he underwent a lot of tests: lumbar puncture, EEG, MRI, blood tests etc and was diagnosed with West Syndrome. He then had a NG tube put in and medications started.

Within 12 months things became worse and we were back and forth to hospital. Things became worse: we were told that a MRI scan showed reduced white matter and that this white matter was turning into They didn't know how long Tyler would live - diagnosis is still unclear on why he has reduced white matter. There are doctors in Holland looking at his MRI scans to see if they can understand why.

Tyler has to have a lot of medication to keep him stable and so far it's working. In March 2012 we were told that Tyler has now lost sight in right eye due to retinal detatchment and can not be fixed with surgery. Despite all his problems he's a wonderful and content little boy but not knowing he if will be here in the morning breaks our hearts I'd be lost without him, he's my world. x
