Biography

Dylan was born healthy in Feb 2014. Two days later he became uninterested in feeding and he was taken to hospital where his blood sugars were 0.7. Doctors were unable to access veins so had to drill directly into his leg and give medication into his bone marrow.

Dylan was stabilised and transferred to the children's hospital where he then began to fit and was put on a life support machine. He remained on it for 2 weeks. During this time an MRI scan took place which showed damage to the back part of his brain.

Dylan came home after 3 weeks where he progressed well until 6 months old. Dylan's eyes were tested and he was found to be blind. Dylan was finally able to sit unaided at 4 years old.

Dylan is now 8 years old. He is unable to walk but will shuffle on his bottom to explore. He attends school which he loves. Dylan's favourite thing to do is swimming or taking a bath (which he is not able to do without someone physically in the bath with him)
