Biography

Anthony was born at home at term plus 6. His diagnosis initially wasn’t picked up by the midwife. The following day we were instructed to take him to the hospital for his baby check and it was then we saw the characteristics of Down's. The midwife also spotted it and asked us if we had heard of Down’s Syndrome. From then all hell broke loose which ended up with him being admitted to the Children’s hospital. After a serious infection and many setbacks we were finally told that our boy could come home, 6 weeks later than planned.

Living with Anthony certainly keeps us on our toes. He has hearing loss which can’t be measured, as he won’t tolerate the tests. He has nystagmus and vision loss. He has global delay of around 5/6 years and is a part time wheelchair user. We are also going down the road for testing for Autism.
