Biography

At the age of 2 months old, we noticed Sofia was having seizures. These continued and by 3 months old she was having up to 60 seizures a day. We were transferred to The Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle where we stayed for nearly a month,. Here she was diagnosed with a very rare metabolic disease called Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia. This is a life limiting condition and there are only 30 cases in the UK.

Sofia has shown us what a brave and strong little girl she is and she started a special needs school aged 2 which she loves.
