Biography

From a very young age Beth has struggled but it became more apparent as she got to primary school. She was only allowed to school an hour a day and was mostly restrained by teachers as they didn’t have an understanding of her. At age 5 Beth was diagnosed with autism and moved to another school where she was restrained and hurt by a male teacher. We then managed to get her into a specialist autism school where she was fairly settled for a few years but as she got older her mental health declined really badly to the point she could no longer attend school and she was diagnosed with complex PTSD from all she had been through.

After a few more months Beth was diagnosed with an eating disorder and given an NG tube for a few months to help her gain the weight she had lost. Her mental health has declined even more since she turned 15 and she is now in a specialist hospital being treated for her mental health. They have been fantastic with her, keeping her safe as she hurts herself a lot, and have been really understanding of her autism as well as all her other needs. We are hoping Beth will be well enough to return home in the next few weeks as she has been in hospital this time for 5 months. She is making good progress with her mental health and is learning how to cope.
