BiographyIsaac was a difficult pregnancy followed by a difficult birth and then he was an extremely fussy baby. He never slept and cried a lot. Looking back, although he seemed to be developing as expected in those early years there were signs of autism even early on. His legs were always moving and kicking, then jumping (my sister and I called him crazy legs).
As Isaac approached the age of 1 he seemed to lose any care in what was going on around him and it was as if he had been turned off. He wasn't reaching his milestones and seemed to dislike being around anyone that wasn't me. He enjoyed walking on his tip toes, spinning, spinning things, rocking, humming, running but didn't like people, crowded places, clothes, touch or sounds.
Speaking was difficult for Isaac and so he didn't speak until he was 5. However, he can be a little talker now sometimes.
Isaac did start reception in a mainstream school but the school were unable to meet his needs and so he now attends an Specialist school where he is doing well.
