BiographyA difficult pregnancy but labour was fine. We noticed at 6 months something wasn't right. Cori wasn't meeting milestones and he kept staring into space. We couldn't work out what was going on, after a fight and help via his infant school we started getting the help he needed. In 2018 we got our first referral for him to be seen.
In Feb 2019 we got his first diagnosis of language disorder and development delay and in 2019 a referral for an autsim assessment. In 2020 Cori was diagnosed with sleep disorder and seizure disorder and medication started for them both, I was so grateful for his melatonin, Cori started to sleep which meant I could sleep.
In 2022 Cori's SENCO from his junior school repeated a referral for autism as we had heard nothing. In 2023 his autism assessment started and in October 2023 we were told he had autism and dyspraxia. In 2024 Cori was also diagnosed with dyslexia.
From 2022 Cori has had EHCP, his level of learning is at the level of reception. He is now in secondary school and not coping which is causing his seizures to be worse and his mental health has taken a massive hit. We are fighting with him to get him to school and working to get him in a special setting and we will keep fighting.
