BiographyJack was born very suddenly, 8 weeks early. Born in 9 minutes! Jack had to be resuscitated upon birth, and then contracted meningitis at 2 days old. He then spent just shy of 7 weeks in hospital. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy in July of 2013 after failing to meet milestones and presenting with stiff muscles.
Jack and his family have worked really hard to make the best of his diagnosis. He was unfortunately not a candidate for SDR operation, and now at 12 years old is looking at multi level surgery to try and ease his very tight hamstring muscles which is making a big impact on his physiotherapy and ability to walk. Jack didn't sit up unaided until after he was 2, and took a few unassisted steps age 7. He has been able to maintain a little bit of unassisted walking, but most of the time he uses a walking frame. The quality of his walking is decreasing. He is the sunshine in our lives and is a joy to be around.
