Biography

Brandon was diagnosed with Duchenne before his 4th birthday and is Vincent's older brother. He was poorly within a few days of birth with sepsis so was admitted to NICU for treatment. He also had plagiocephaly and torticollis which made meeting milestones difficult so, before he turned 1, he was seen by a paediatrician and physiotheraphy though his genetic condition was missed.

It was not until he was referred to a different paediatrician at 3 years old for suspected autism that he was recommended for some blood tests when the Gower maneuver was witnessed. Within that week he suddenly became ill with pneumonia and whilst he was admitted for iv antibiotics he had his CK levels tested which were incredibly high. Further testing was done at Guys Hospital and a month later he was diagnosed with DMD. He was subsequently diagnosed with learning disabilities and autistic traits on top of his genetic condition and is a full-time wheelchair user due to the progression of his condition.
