Biography

Xander suffered a severe brain injury during a very traumatic birth. We were told as a family he may not survive the night, then the first week and then that he would never walk or talk for himself. He was diagnosed with an unsafe swallow meaning he cannot feed or drink safely. He had multiple operations to fit a tube directly into his belly so we could feed him safely.

It took him 6 months to finally graduate from intensive care and, although he is unable to eat or drink, he has come on so much over the last 2 years down to sheer determination.

Today he is a speedy crawler who is exploring standing with lots of support and now he has been diagnosed as moderately deaf he spends lots of time shouting at us all to make himself known!

He is full of attitude and personality with a very shy and soft exterior. It takes a long time for him to get used to new people but he is the light of our lives as a family and we thank god he is still with us every single day.
