BiographyArchie was born healthy with no complications during the birth. He has always been delayed in everything, didn't sit until he was 12 months old, didn't roll till 12 months, didn't walk until he was 2. He was referred to the paediatrician at 1.5 year old and was given a diagnosis of autism at age 3.
He is pre-verbal and still unable to communicate his wants and needs. He started at a specialist school in reception just after he turned 4 and is still attending that school now. When he was in year 1 he started having multiple types of seizures and after lots of tests given an epilepsy diagnosis and started on medication. However we could not get the meds into him because of the eating disorder ARFID. He would only eat skips crisps and flavoured watermelon water so we couldn't hide it in anything. This meant his seizures were happening every day, sometimes up to 20 a day because we could not control them because of not taking the medication. In March 2025 he stopped eating and drinking completely so in April he received an emergency Gastrostomy peg and he now gets all nutrition of 4 feeds a day and all medication through the tube.
