Thank you

Thank you so much everyone! Aidan loves his quilt and can't wait to sleep with it tonight. He's counted all the dogs, the squares and reckons its 12 meters long LOL! He's named the little Jack Russell as Eddie. Thanks again to all the stitchers and quilters :D

Biography

Aidan was starved of oxygen at 29 weeks gestation due to a placenta abruption. He was born at term. He was diagnosed 2 weeks before his 1st birthday with Spastic Diapleia Cerebral Palsy. He could only commando crawl at this age. After a few weeks of intensive physio therapy he began to crawl at 15mths and at 17mths he began to sit in 'w' position. At 18mths he got his first kaye walking frame.

He has had a wheelchair from 2yrs old.
He has had pH probes and Camera's under GA for his sever reflux which shows there is damage to his stomach, He has had an MRI under GA where we found out about his PVL brain damage. He has had 2 lots of botox and tendon releases with up to 10 weeks in plaster to correct his feet positions.
He was diagnosed as having autistic spectrum disorder at 3yrs old and with hyperactivity and inattention at 5yrs old. He has suffered with sever reflux and chronic constipation all his life.
He has physio therapy every day and has to spend up to 1hr a day straped in a standing frame, 30mins in a corner seat with gaitors on his legs and uses his walking frame to get round school and a wheelchair whilst outside. He is trying hard to learn to use tripod sticks but this is proving difficult as he loses tone as soon as he loses concerntration and falls to the floor.

He wears a lycra suit to support his back and hips, AFO splints on his legs and a helmet whilst in his walker.
He attends a mainstream school but struggles academically.

He is however, a happy, funny little boy who enjoys playing tricks on people and acting at stage school.
