Biography

Mason is a much-loved little boy whose life has been shaped by significant health challenges from a very early age. From infancy, he has lived with chronic respiratory problems and multiple food allergies, some of which are severe. As his breathing difficulties worsened, Mason was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and suffered a collapsed lung, requiring an extended stay in hospital and intensive care. Throughout this time, he showed remarkable strength and bravery.

From around 14 months old, Mason began to show signs of autism and has since been diagnosed. Now aged 3½, he receives ongoing support and therapy which help him grow, learn, and thrive in his own unique way. Mason also continues to experience ENT problems and sleep apnoea, which impact his sleep and daily comfort. Despite everything he faces, Mason is a resilient and determined little boy, surrounded by love and care.

Mason is especially drawn to bright rainbow colours, trains, building blocks, and sensory patterns, which bring him comfort and joy. A quilt made especially for Mason would be deeply meaningful, offering warmth, reassurance, and a sense of security. It would also stand as a heartfelt reminder that he is cared for, supported, and thought of by others during his ongoing journey. Thank you to the quilt maker for the kindness and love poured into something created just for Mason.
