Biography
Taija was welcomed into the world surrounded by love, and from the very beginning she has shown a strong and determined spirit. When Taija was around three to four months old, she began having seizures, which was a frightening time for her family and marked the start of many medical appointments and investigations. As she grew, it became clear that she was developing more slowly than expected. Taija didn’t crawl until she was around 18 months old, didn’t take her first steps until she was two, and at one year old she wasn’t yet saying “baba” or “dada.” Alongside this, she has also faced challenges with asthma, eczema, sensory sensitivities, and balance.
Over time, Taija was diagnosed with autism and global developmental delay, helping everyone better understand how best to support her. She has worked incredibly hard and continues to make progress every day. Now, at four years old, she is just beginning to say single words, which is a huge milestone for her and her family. Taija has been through many assessments, therapies, and health challenges, but she continues to show resilience, courage, and her own wonderful way of experiencing the world. She is a deeply loved little girl who brings so much joy, and her journey so far shows just how special and strong she truly is.
