Biography
T came to live with me at 6 weeks old from special care as a foster placement. She had lots of problems feeding and I could see something wasn’t quite right, but all I was told was her needs were unknown
She had massive developmental delay. She was 12 months old before she sat unaided and I was told she more than likely wouldn’t walk or communicate verbally, but with daily physio and with the help of walking wings that my daughter brought back from a trip to USA she took her first unaided steps at 23months.
Then it was decided she would move to a residential home as she was unadoptable because of her unknown needs! I was a single mum to 3 teenagers, this was my job, but she was the piece missing in our family jigsaw. We all loved her more than the moon. She legally became my daughter just before her 3rd birthday!
Her speech hit at around 4 and she hasn’t stopped talking since, she can’t read, write or count but she is the most caring girl in the world who is happiest when surrounded by animals.
