    News 16 Oct 2011 - 23 Oct 2011

This week has been a very busy one!

    Quilt News
Several quilts have been delivered this week.

Firstly, we received a photo of Jayden K with his quilt:

    Niamh's quilt was delivered:

Niamh's mum is having trouble with her camera at the moment so we hope to have a photo of Niamh with her quilt to show you next week.

    Kelli G's quilt was delivered:

Katherine completed an emergency quilt which we shall keep in stock in case we need to send a quilt out quickly. The theme was Winnie the Pooh and friends with squares from our Disney characters Stitch-a-long and our Any Child square stash.

Thank you to all the stitchers and quilters (Alison, Gaynor, Mary and Katherine) for your contribution to these beautiful quilts!

We have heard from our quilter Evelyn that Lilly Mae S's quilt is complete and has been posted, and also new quilter Marion has begun work on a quilt using squares from our Butterflies Stitch-a-long.

    New quilters
We have had three new quilters join us this week, two (Liz and Janet) from the Popular Patchwork magazine forums and also Rebecca, one of our stitchers, has taken the plunge! Welcome to LQUK ladies, and thank you for your support :)

Rebecca is already working on squares from our Hearts Stitch-a-long.

    Quilts opened/closed
Jessica S's quilt was opened and closed.
Dean B's quilt was opened and closed.
Samuel W's quilt was opened and closed

    Hospice quilt
We have decided to do a stitch-a-long for a hospice quilt, specifically for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice which has been attended by several of our kids. Bluebell Wood has a Forget-Me-Not suite, a climate-controlled room where families can be together after the death of their child and before the funeral is held. This is obviously a very difficult time and our quilt will be used to make the room more comfortable. If the quilt is successful, we may do a few more hospice quilts in the future (funds permitting). The theme for this quilt is Forget-Me-Nots.

    Square News
We have received 4 squares this week - many thanks :)

  • Quilt Squares were received from:

Julie, Anglesey, Wales (for Harlum L)
