Quilt News
This week we received a photo of Alice B's quilt:

Two quilts were delivered:

Alfred O's quilt:

McKenzie's quilt:

Thank you very much indeed to all the stitchers for so kindly donating a square to these quilts, and to Katherine, Gaynor and Carol respectively for quilting them. Also thanks to those who donated fabric towards these quilts (Mariann and Lis)

Emergency quilt
We were very sad this week to hear that Theo S is extremely poorly, so much so that we decided to send him an emergency quilt this week. He received the Winnie-the-Pooh quilt which was quilted by Katherine a few months back:

We wish Theo and his family well and we hope little Theo can draw some comfort from his quilt.

By coincidence, we have had a quilt application for a little girl called Isla for a Sea Life quilt. We will carry over Theo's original signups to Isla's quilt and keep the same deadline. Isla is awaiting a kidney transplant and we feel her quilt should have semi-emergency status with a 3 month lead time instead of a 6 months. If any of the stitchers involved require any clarification, please drop us an email on contact@lovequiltsuk.com. Many thanks for your understanding. :)

    Craft Fayre
Many thanks to Mrs E Thomas of Swansea (Gaynor's mum) who did a stall at a Craft Fayre in the local library last Friday. She sold knitted items in aid of LQUK. She also took along the World Landmarks emergency quilt (quilted by Joanne) and the Hearts emergency quilt (quilted by Rebecca) to raise awareness. She raised a total of £29. Thank you very much, Elaine :)

    Donations
We have received this week some squares, fabric and thread - thank you very much to the anonymous benefactor :)

Also thanks to Helen who has sent us in some small squares. We have collected several too-small squares over the years and we will eventually make them up into a one-off small square emergency quilt :)

Many thanks to Brenda who has sent us in a metre of Aida.

Also thanks to those who have sent in cash/cheque/Paypal donations, it is really appreciated. Gaynor has been ordering some border fabrics in time for the 2012 quilts this weekend out of your kind donations :) (See Fabric page for details)

    Quilt News
Alice B's quilt has been delivered, but we have not yet received a photo.

Here is a photo Katherine took before posting the quilt off:

Gaynor and Carol have been working on Alfred O's quilt (Penguins) and McKenzie M's quilt (Jungle Animals) respectively, and both quilts will be posted off this coming week :)

Anna has started working on Bradley's quilt and Katherine has started working on Blisse's quilt.

As the busy Christmas period is coming up, Bradley and Blisse's will be the last quilts of 2011, making 45 quilts in total :)

    Quilt News
Two quilts were delivered this week!

    Faith L's quilt:

    Ollie K's quilt:

We also had a large train square from Sue in Birmingham that was too big for a quilt, so Katherine made it into a pillow-case for Ollie's twin brother Louis, so he wouldn't feel too left out:

With many thanks to all the stitchers and Melanie and Janet respectively for assembling the cross stitch squares into blocks :)

    Magazine stardom!
We are appearing in two magazines this month! Firstly we are appearing in Cross Stitch Crazy magazine Issue 159 (January 2012) with photos of Freya and Evan:

We are also appearing in the December 2011 issue of Craft Seller magazine with a photo of Freya and Brendan with his Tatty Teddy quilt :)

We thanks both magazines for their exposure of LQUK and welcome anyone joining us from either publication. :)

    Children in Hospital
Freya and Caitlin have recently been in hospital, but are now home. :)

Scott has been in hospital for an operation in hospital, but is doing a little better now, although he has developed a line infection :(

We have also heard that Seraphina is rather poorly at the moment.

We are keeping all the kids in our thoughts and hope they will be on the mend soon. :)
