Biography

Ocean was diagnosed from her newborn heel Ppick at 2 weeks of age although she present signs before diagnosis. A chest infection she couldn't shift and coughing up mucus at a few days old.
So she was taken to the doctor's and they told me I was a panicky parent.

As soon as she was diagnosed she started antibiotics enzymes and vitamins as well as inhalers and extra antibiotics for the infection she had which didn't work. She was admitted to hospital at 6 weeks for 10 days of IVs.
When she was better she was allowed home then just a couple ov week later Ocean went blue and couldn't breathe. We rushed her to hospital were they gave her an hour to improve before she would be sent to Southampton. It was terrifying for us and her lung had collapses she was on oxygen but despiste the illness and only being 10 week old she fought like a trooper and improved within the hour meaning she wasn't transferred and stayed at our local hospital. With their CF team she came off the oxygen after 6 days and got herself well enough to be able to come home.

Since then we have moved home and Ocean has had to get to know a new CF team. She has daily antibiotics enzymes and vitamins by the handful. She has suspected asthma and inhalers to manage that and powder at night to help her lungs stay open. She does physio twice a day and she also does cough swabs every 2 weeks and if she does get even a cold or just a cough she has extra antibiotics.

Despite all she goes through Ocean is a happy little girl who is running round like other 2 year olds she just started dancing and nursery and never complains about any of her daily treatments.
