My sons quilt arrived today. Joshua didnt know anything about it and we were totally blown away by how gorgeous it it.
Thank you to all the lovely cross stitchers for the beautiful squares and the quilter who put it all together. He was amazed that the patches came from all around the world and that it was made especially for him. For once Joshua was actually speechless it takes something special to make him gobsmacked!!
It means the world thanks once again from the bottom of our hearts xxxx

Biography

Joshua was born by emergency c-section 2 weeks late. His cord had detached from the placenta and we were told he was too lifeless for a full term baby and was extremely floppy. Within a year he had 2 MRI scans.

As he got older all his milestones were missed and he started walking just before his 2nd birthday with help from physiotherapy. Just after his 3rd birthday, Joshua was diagnosed with autism and a severe learning disability. He has the mental age of a much younger child of his age. He has no sense of danger and needs constant adult supervision.

Joshua was diagnosed with scoliosis when he was 8 after complaining his legs were sore. It has progressively gotten worse over the past 2 years and now needs to wear a spinal brace 22 hours a day for the foreseeable future and he gets tired and frustrated easily.
