Biography

Kaydi was starved of oxygen at birth. She was born flat and had to be resuscitated, she was placed in ICU for a month. 4 days after her birth, the dr came to see us and said she would have severe cerebral palsy.

Kaydi came home in October but was taken back into hospital for a month because of jerky movements, this was diagnosed as infantile spasms because of her age but was later diagnosed as epilepsy.

Kaydi has had an operation on her hip when it became displaced from the socket, she has a gastrostomy button as - although she eats - she can't gain weight, so she now has overnight feeds, and we have just this week had an operation to release tendons in her legs to stop her hips displacing again.

Throughout all this Kaydi has remained a happy smiling girl.

She goes to a special school as she has gdd and she is doing great there, she is non verbal but very vocal.
