Thank you

The quilt has arrived and he loves it. He insists on snuggling under it in front of the TV and it's currently on his bed while he is asleep. It's really lovely and means so much to us xxx

Biography

Joseph was a planned C Section delivery as he was breech. He was a tiny 5lbs 10 but doctors were happy with him. As soon as we established feeding we were allowed home. We were home for 3 weeks and one day Joseph began to struggle to breath. I went to the GP and we were asked to go to our local hospital. At the hospital normal observation tests showed that Joseph had dangerously low oxygen saturation, an alarm was pressed and doctors arrived. It was established that Joseph had an issue with his heart. We were then blue lighted to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle where we were told that Joseph had a very serious and life changing congenital heart defect. We were told to expect to be in hospital for 6 months and that our life was about to fundamentally change.

Joseph had his first open heart surgery at 3 weeks old. This was successful and surprisingly we were allowed home after a month in hospital. We took our precious baby home with strict instuctions to help him gain weight for his next and more complex surgery at 6 months old. Between month 1 and month 6 we had lots of medical emergencies but thankfully we got to month 6 and the surgery was successful.

Back to present day and Joseph is 3 and a half. He is a beautiful and very happy little boy. He is at pre-school and very much enjoying it. He has had 3 x heart catheter operations after his major surgery. His heart is just now starting to deteriorate again and we have been told to expect a further open heart surgery early 2019. We would love your quilt to take with us to hospital.
