BiographySofia was born a healthy little girl, but by 13 months she still wasn’t hitting her milestones. She couldn’t bear any weight and never spoke a word. She started regressing very early and in November 2014 we had her tested for Rett syndrome which was confirmed in January 2015. We were devastated, all are hopes and dreams for our first born were shattered.
It took us time to heal but she’s still our beautiful girl. She was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2017 and scoliosis in 2018. Sofia is in a wheelchair and is non-verbal but this doesn’t stop our smart girl. She uses a Tobii eyegaze to speak with and has done since she was 2. It’s still a learning process but to hear her opinions and say she loves us means the world! She’s a very funny and kind little girl. x
