Thank you

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you 💕

Isla Rose received her ‘Love Quilts UK’ quilt today and it’s beautiful, the quality is outstanding and the time that’s gone into it shows. So much Love and care.

It’s been a mixture of emotional receiving this quilt on behalf of Isla but mainly gratitude and an overwhelming feeling of love and support.

She doesn’t understand what it’s all about but she knows from Mummy’s high pitch voice it’s something exciting !! 😍

Isla has Dravet syndrome, she received brain damage at 15months old after fighting for her life for 6weeks and that was just the beginning.

Isla lost so much when the seizure took all of her skills but it didn’t take her Smile, her laughter or her love for life and everyone she has in it.

Thank you so so much for creating a beautiful quilt for our daughter. It’s perfect and we will treasure it forever.

Thank you xxxxxxx

Biography

Isla was born in April 2014 a healthy beautiful girl. We went home and started our new family life. She was perfect!
All was well until Isla turned 17 weeks old, her 1st seizure started which was 2 hours long. After a hospital stay we were sent home ‘febrile convulsion’.
Two weeks later it happened again, then again, then again. All tests came back clear, no one had any answers as to why or even why it wouldn’t stop with all medication. Months passed and we finally got a diagnosis of Dravet Syndrone. Our world was shattered but not for long. Isla was such a happy child we had to just pick ourselves up and carry on. In between seizures she was a ‘normal’, healthy child. Then hours long seizures would hit without warning. At 15 months a seizure came, it came strong, so much stronger than before. I battled to keep her breathing. She had 2 weeks on life support, adeno virus warning and they told us a 50/50. We waited.....she did it she stopped seizing and started breathing. Two weeks on life support we then moved onto the ward, something wasn’t right, she couldn’t see and wasn’t improving like she used to. We were then told she had severe brain damage. Three weeks later we were home. Our worlds have changed since then, Dravet isn’t our main battle.
That was 3 years ago, Isla has lived longer than they thought and has improved more than they could have imagined.
We have a happy loud child back without the walking or talking or eating but she’s happy. She can see again after training her CVI.
We couldn’t be more proud of Isla and all she achieves. xx
