Biography

Amina is a young girl who was diagnosed with spasms, seizures, optic atrophy (registered blind) and complex developmental delay at the age of 8 months. Despite trying many drugs for her seizures we made the best choice of choosing the ketogenic diet for her which helped with her seizures. She has been off the diet for 4 years and still on some drugs. The seizures remain a daily occurrence but are 90% better than before.
Amina has had a number of surgeries for her gastrostomy, hips, gall bladder and a Nissan fundoplication. She now has a curved spine and sleeps with a sleeping system. Regular change of position is required and she is under orthopaedic care.
Despite everything Amina goes through every day her smile and body language tells us when she is happy and relaxed and makes everyone's day.
