Biography

From birth Aaron always struggled to feed, suffered with reflux and didn't keep much feed down. Over the months he didn't meet any of his milestones like sitting, crawling, babbling. By 10 months the health visitor referred him to the child development centre. He was seen there on his first birthday, the day he sat unaided for the first time.
He was diagnosed with global developmental delay. Aaron struggled everyday as he couldn't cope with the noises of everyday life. Normal days out to play areas, shopping centres etc. were hard as Aaron would just cry. As he got older this lead to frustration and hitting out behaviour around others as the normal laughter and noises of children scared him.
Aaron has also never slept well. As a baby he would wake every 2 hours for a bottle and take 1 hour to feed then fall back to sleep. By a year he was off the night feeds but would only sleep on average 4 hours a night. This has never improved.
At age 2.5 Aaron had his first seizure. After 3 more on the same day he was admitted to hospital where he was diagnosed with epilepsy and put on medication for this.
At age 7 Aaron took his first steps. He had never crawled or pulled himself to stand, so could only walk when he was placed in a standing position. His walking is still unsteady but getting there, though he is still unable to get himself up from the floor to stand.
Aaron is non-verbal and easily gets frustrated. Despite this he gives the best cuddles ever and is very loving - when he's not giving you a good slap.
