Victor LOVES his quilt and really enjoys exploring all the wonderful detail on it! I was very surprised to see him get himself on top of the blanket to do that and even go onto his front to look at it close up - that’s something he usually dislikes doing as it’s very difficult for him, but it’s very good for physiotherapy! His big brother was so happy that Victor finally has a special item he can snuggle with and take with him when he has to spend time away from home!

A massive thank you to all the quilters and you for making something truly special for our boy!! We really appreciate it!

Biography

Our Victor is an extremely happy three year old boy. He goes to a special nursery where he has two best friends! This is especially extraordinary because he cannot yet speak! They tell us at school that it is very unusual for the children to play together in their nursery and not just alongside each other, but our children are doing just that! At home Victor loves to play with his five year old brother and one year old sister. They know all about Victor’s tube feeding and bring things they want to share with him to the blender for his tubie! We are all using Makaton sign language to talk to Victor and each other and he will announce anywhere he goes using signs, that it is ‘ME’ - Victor, who has arrived! Victor’s sister and brother know how much he loves spinning things and always bring him spinning toys, which is why we have chosen vehicles for his quilt! He will turn toy vehicles over to spin their wheels around with a very impressive isolated pointer finger. He also tries to spin wheels of pictures of cars etc. and enjoys looking at them!
