Biography

Sailer was born with an unexpected brain injury due to lack of oxygen- HIE grade 2 (brain damage). This has led to quadriplegic cerebral palsy with lots of dystonia (abnormal movements). We have been told she will likely never walk or talk but she is already finding ways to let us know what she does and doesn't want! She was NG tube fed for the first year of her life but through her determination she now eats and drinks everything orally.

I'm so proud of her and her big brother for taking on the challenges that every day brings. None of this was expected for us and we are still learning to adjust. The future is very uncertain and we are yet to know the full extent of Sailer's injury, "wait and see" is a phrase we have become used to. I came across Love Quilts UK I knew it would be so special to have something for her and her brother to snuggle under.
