Biography

When Amy was born her stomach had dark lumps under the skin. Amy was taken to the special baby unit in the hospital and later that day sent to the local children’s hospital where she had an operation to clear meconium stuck in her bowels. Unfortunately Amy's bowels still did not work and she was fitted with a stoma bag. Amy’s heel prick screening came back and confirmed she has cystic fibrosis. After 40 long nights we were able to take her home.

Amy is now 8 and a half and has had several hospital admissions due to bowel blockages and more recently chest and lung infections. At the beginning of November 2020 Amy had her 8th operation to fit a central line and then have iv antibiotics for 2 weeks.
