Biography

Anthony was born with hardly any skin on his hands and feet but the nurse rubbed him like they do with newborns and unfortunately caused more open wounds. The Great Ormond Street hospital nurse came up on the Monday to take a biopsy of Anthony's skin and explained Anthony had a type of EB.

We had to wait three weeks to get the results which meant Anthony has recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa a life limited condition. He is bandaged from the neck down and has chronic open wounds that cause serious pain. He is on a lot of pain relief to help. Anthony needs blood transfusions frequently and throat dilations every 6 months - 1 year. He has a lot of hospital trips. But Anthony does not let his illness get him down. He is happy most days and keeps fighting every day
