Biography

Ollie was a failure to thrive baby who had his first surgery at 8 weeks old and was tube fed. He was in too much pain to eat and was not able to get any nutrients from his food so started Tpn when he was a year old. This only got worse and at 3 he was put on the list for a multivisceral bowel transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Ollie had his transplant in October 2010. The operation went well with a few bumps but he was home in 6 months. Unfortunately he rejected his new organs a year later and then another year later. He had lots of treatment but needed to go back on Tpn. He has a stoma and is fed for 16 hours a day. He also uses an electric wheelchair as he finds it hard to get around.
