Wow! Huge thank you to everyone who stitched a square for Olly's quilt from Love Quilts UK and to them putting it all together. We actually signed up ourselves to stitch a square too and under estimated how hard and time consuming it would be! My mum (Olly's Grandma) also signed up for this but sadly passed away before she could start it so, my amazing friend Sam Steeples stepped in and did it for her (all while juggling 2 kids, work and covid)! She would be so proud of you and we are forever grateful

As you can guess Olly loves penguins and he said that he will keep this quilt forever! He absolutely adores it and it will go everywhere with us. Thank you so so much, again xx

Biography

Olly was diagnosed with DMD just after his second birthday. Olly wasn't meeting all of his milestones and was a late walker. After 8 months of physio with no change he was referred to a paediatrician who gave us the heart breaking news.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a rare muscle wasting condition which in time will affect all of his muscles including his heart. Life expectancy is around mid twenties. Olly is still quite mobile and uses a wheelchair for long distances. He cannot run fast, jump, hop or climb. We have started noticing differences now as he struggles getting up from the floor and is starting to get slower in general.

He loves playing with his Lego and cars and is a very happy little boy. He doesn't let anything get in his way and nothing phases him. Olly is awesome xx
