BiographyFollowing George’s birth he was unexpectedly taken to ICU due to breathing difficulties. After weeks of interventions and some improvements he was sent home without a diagnosis. At a three month follow up meeting George was diagnosed with severe pulmonary valve stenosis.
Due to repeated infections he was unable to have surgery until he was 6 months old. During this heart surgery he was found to also have supra valve stenosis. This initiated concerns around the possibility of George having Noonan Syndrome and at the age of 13 months old this was confirmed by his geneticist.
George has had a further 2 heart surgeries, the last of which was not a success. His next open heart surgery is expected within the year. In addition to this George has had three surgeries on his testicles due to them remaining in his abdomen.
George has oral aversion and is mainly getting his nutritional needs met via prescribed Infatini milk. George continues to work very hard trying new textures/foods despite this resulting in daily vomiting episodes.
George has unexplained leg and foot pain for which he wears insoles and receives physiotherapy. He has frequent falls due to low muscle tone which is a common issues associated with Noonans Syndrome.
Despite all of George's issues and a total fear of hospitals he is a happy, adventurous little boy who is full of life. He sees beauty in the world that many take for granted and he makes everyone laugh everyday with his wicked sense of humour. Everyone he meets is drawn in by him especially his two big sisters whom he has wrapped around his little fingers.
